Shorewood Contemporary Kitchen & Traditional Bathroom Remodel

Shorewood

Our firm was asked to walk through the 1920’s Tudor shortly after an offer to purchase was accepted. The well located home with large rooms, updated Master suite and room to grow appealed to the new Owners. However there was one aspect of the home that was not appealing; the kitchen. Dark, entertainment unfriendly, awkward appliance locations and everything was tinted blue. The resulting design kept existing door and window openings, an existing sink location, but moved the refrigerator away from the window walls to allow more natural light onto the work surfaces. With family meals and casual entertaining in mind, a unique “stool height” banquette and table was added to an interior wall creating the gathering area in the kitchen. An open bookshelf sits below a phone center with several drawers concealing outlets and receptacles for iPods and phones.
